| A Heavenly Touch |
In 1985, in an office in South Florida, a dentist was working on a patient. The patient was a private investigator. Medication was given to the patient to alleviate the pain associated with his treatment. Two days later, the patient noticed a dramatic improvement not only in the pain level, but in his skin as well. His face, which was full of razor bumps, had cleared up!
The man couldn't wait to tell the dentist what had happened. Early the next morning, he visited the dentist's office. "Doc, Doc! What did you give me? What was it?" The dentist was scared. He thought something was wrong, "Doc! Look! Look! My face is cleared up! My razor bumps are gone!"
The dentist, obviously confused, exclaimed, "What in the world are you talking about? What the heck are razor bumps?"
The investigator began to tell the dentist how important this discovery was. He mentioned that the dozens of products already on the market did not come close to producing the dramatic results he had gotten from the pain medicine.
Realizing that the medicine could not be taken internally for long periods of time, the two men experimented with the formula in an attempt to apply it directly to the skin.. Eight long years of lab work, tests, and patents produced a very effective formula. The dentist had a great discovery. Return to Top
Other uses for the formula arose in the same "chance" way that the formula was discovered. Women who bought the product for their husbands or boyfriends started trying it on the perpetual ingrown hair problems they had from shaving, waxing, and having electrolysis on their legs., bikini lines, and underarms. Not only did they report to the dentist that the ingrown hair problems had cleared, but that the formula worked as an excellent underarm deodorant. Return to Top
Further "results from the field" from customer experimentation included overnight clearing of "cold sores" on the lip, stoppage of bleeding resulting from shaving nicks, and an end to salt air irritation on freshly shaved legs. New uses continue to be found! Return to Top
Thank you for letting us tell our story. We hope you enjoyed it. We look forward to speaking with you soon about this revolutionary discovery. Return to Top
We have been working with Tend Skin® Lotion since 1985. We continue to be amazed every time someone affirms the product's effectiveness. No other product in the world can do all that Tend Skin® Lotion does, especially when it comes to ingrown hairs and razor bumps (Pseudofolliculitis barbae, PFB). Return to Top
Razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae, pronounced "soo-doe-fol-li-cu-li'-tis): Razor bumps are created when the growing beard hairs exit the skin, curl over, and burrow into the adjacent skin. This creates a foreign body reaction resulting in an unsightly "bump". Razor bumps form on the beard areas of men-mostly Black men and about 15-20% of Caucasian men. Occurrence varies with nationality. Return to Top
Ingrown Hairs: Ingrown hairs form when hairs, growing back after shaving, waxing, electrolysis, or other hair removal method, and fail to grow out of the skin. The hairs curl over inside the follicles under the skin (just like the "razor bump" hairs curl above the skin). By curling, the hair creates a foreign body reaction in the hair follicle. The inflammation in the follicle then creates and unsightly "bump". Return to Top
Many products claim to deal with these two problems. Their actions, however, are limited as per our customer feedback (see our brochure "Tend Skin®: effectiveness vs. Competitive Products") Return to Top
Tend Skin® Lotion is different.. The exact means by which Tend Skin® Lotion performs its miraculous effects is not completely understood. We have an empirical theory. Our theory has yet to be verified scientifically, but it does fit what the product is able to do. Return to Top
Proposed Mechanism of Action: We believe Tend Skin® Lotion works on ingrown hairs and razor bumps as follows:
1. Application of Tend Skin® Lotion causes an increased fluid ingress into the skin. Return to Top
2. This ingress increases the fluid pressure, or "turgor" under the skin
3. The increased turgor tends to "squeeze" the hair follicles.
4. This "squeezing" of the follicles decreases the diameter of the follicles. This means there is less room in the interior of the follicles Return to Top
5. Squeezing the follicles forces ingrown hairs to exit the pores and, thus, grow above the skin’s surface. With razor bumps, curled hairs are forced to "lift out" of the skin when their follicles are squeezed. Return to Top
Tend Skin® Lotion requires no mixing. There are no limits on use, and no preparations before use. You can now use your preferred method of hair removal. Tend Skin® Lotion was developed with No Animal Testing! Return to Top

Due to the "solvent" nature of Tend Skin® Lotion, sensitivity reactions can occur. We recommend testing a small area of skin for 15-20 minutes before using Tend Skin® Lotion on extensive areas. Return to Top
Always apply Tend Skin® Lotion to DRY SKIN only!
Test a small area before hair removal.
Test a small area again after hair removal. Return to Top
Allow the product to remain on the skin. If there is no reaction in 15-20 minutes, you should have no problems with the product.Return to Top
For those with "razor bumps" (PFB): Apply Tend Skin® Lotion twice per day at first. Apply at night before sleep and again in the morning after shaving. Make sure skin is dry prior to application. Once the skin clears (usually in 48 hours), you should apply daily to maintain clear skin. Return to Top
We strongly advise using a fresh sharp razor, be it single or double edge, and replacing it after one or two shaves. (SEE "TROUBLESHOOTING TEND SKIN LOTION DIFFICULTIES") Clippers can be used, however you will not get as smooth a shave Applying before shaving will decrease the burning and itching associated with PFB. You will find your own pattern of use. To avoid eye irritation, do not "splash" on to face! We recommend a cotton ball. Return to Top
For men who have unsightly razor burn on their necks, or redness from wearing a tie, applying Tend Skin® Lotion after shaving should clear the skin, usually in a matter of hours. Daily use will prevent the problem. Return to Top
For Ingrown Hairs: Applying Tend Skin® Lotion to existing ingrown hairs will clear many of them in 24 to 48 hours. Tweezing is not needed or advised as resulting skin damage can increase the formation of ingrown hairs. Return to Top
For use with Electrolysis: Applying before electrolysis will help protect the skin during the procedure. Applying after electrolysis will quench the burning and eliminate the redness within minutes.. Applying several times weekly will prevent ingrown hair formation. Return to Top
For use with Waxing: Applying Tend Skin® Lotion before waxing will "ease" the wax "pull". The hairs will "feel" loosened. Then apply after waxing to eliminate redness within minutes, and the next day you should not have post-wax. Return to Top
Method Of Application: Tend Skin® Lotion may be applied with a cotton ball or with the fingertips. Return to Top
Make sure skin is dry prior to application. Rinse hands after use. The product may be rubbed on thus acting as a cleanser. It also acts as an astringent for oily skin. To avoid irritation to the eyes, do not "splash" on when applying to facial area. Return to Top
Tend Skin® Lotion is made with only the finest pharmaceutical grade ingredients Return to Top

7. TEST PATCH:
a. The first time you use Tend Skin® Lotion BEFORE any hair removal procedure, test a small area for five minutes. Return to Top
b. Repeat this test AGAIN after waxing, shaving, epilating, laser hair removal or electrolysis. You should perform a test patch on a small area of skin that has just undergone hair removal. Wait five minutes to insure that no adverse reaction occurs. Reactions may be in response to multiple product interactions, wax that is too warm, or poor hair removal technique that damages the skin. Return to Top
c. NOTE: If you have skin sensitivities to other products, please test a small area for 15-20 minutes before using extensively. Return to Top
d. In All Cases Of Use: If any tingling is felt that does not cease in a 30 seconds, wait for at least 45-minutes after hair removal before applying after hair removal the next time. Return to Top
8. LOOFAH PADS: We recommend that Tend Skin® Lotion not be used on skin within 48 hours after scrubbing with Loofah pads or Buff Puffs,. Using all of these together may cause burning of the skin and increased ingrown hair formation. Return to Top
9. USE WITH EXFOLIANTS: Do not use Tend Skin® Lotion within one month (or until you are advised by your doctor after having an exfoliant treatment(AHA's, Glycolic's, Accutane) in a salon or doctors office. The combination of agents can lead to chemical burning of the skin. Return to Top
10. T W E E Z I N G !! We do not like tweezing. Tweezing damages the skin and makes ingrown hair problems worse !! Tease the hairs out from under the skin and remove them conventionally by shaving, waxing or electrolysis. Return to Top
1. WET SKIN: Tend Skin® Lotion should only be applied to dry skin. Wet skin causes the product to sting. Return to Top
2. FACIAL APPLICATION: Apply Tend Skin® Lotion after facial hair removal in a very thin layer. The entire face can be done using one end of cotton tipped applicator wetted only once with Tend Skin® Lotion. Keep it very thin! Facial hairs are thicker than body hair. There removal causes larger wounds which leads to more of a stinging feeling when using the product. Return to Top
3. CHIN HAIR PROBLEMS: We recommend that chin hairs (or any hairs!) NOT be tweezed. This usually makes the problem of ingrown hairs in this area worse. We advise seeking electrolysis for permanent hair removal. Tweezing can cause scarring and infection. Do not use Tend Skin® Lotion immediately after tweezing chin hair as it may temporarily aggravate the irritation. Return to Top
1. DYE REMOVAL: Tend Skin® Lotion can remove dye from clothing and carpeting. Keep away from color sensitive materials! Return to Top
2. WOODWORK AND LEATHER: Do not spill Tend Skin® Lotion on wooden furniture or leather goods. Tend Skin® Lotion will dissolve most wood finishes, and will bleach dye from leather. Both the woodwork and the leather will need replacing.Return to Top
CRYSTAL FORMATION: In cold climates you may find some crystal formation in the bottle. This is normal, and does not affect the product's performance. The crystals will disappear after several days at room temperature. Return to Top

AIR SHAVE® Gel prevents those "afternoon nubs" on women's legs.
For those with severe psoriasis, razor bumps, or other skin disorders with severe crusting or surface roughness, AIR SHAVE® Gel is a blessing. Many commercial shave gels and lotions will cause a burning sensation on raw skin surfaces such as those with psoriasis or similar problems. Our gel will not only allow ease of shaving, but its moisturizing properties will generate soothing relief for hours. Return to Top
